Fashion Police

Labor Day marks the end of summer as resorts and kids know it.  It also marks the end of wearing white clothing and start of being able to wear wools.   I think that the time of my mom has gone.  Where you didn't wear white until after Easter and stopped wearing wool.
Those were the days where your shoes, belt, jewelry and purse all matched.  Now the idea is you can wear whatever your little heart desires.
This still makes me cringe if I break one of the rules laid down my mom and grandmother.  My generation is the last of the old ways.  It is sad to see the fright of mixture of colors, patterns and style that are called fashion.
So, yes, my white pants, skirts and dresses will go in the storage closet for next spring.  I don't wear wool due to allergies but still stick the rules as close as possible.  I hate belts so that part is easy for me.  Purses cost an arm and leg now so I keep a brown and a black.  This means I don't match my shoes.  I don't mix gold and silver jewelry.
My grandchildren are sure to laugh at my ideas and make me cringe.  I am sure it will be fine and no one will melt due to wearing white after Labor Day.
Have a wonderful day.
